What is acceptable moisture in the concrete and air?
Either 22 or less on the wood scale of the Delmhorst or less than 3 lbs. when using the Calcium Chloride test.

What is the proper humidity?
30-80% relative humidity.
What is the purpose of VOC?
To reduce solvent emissions into the air.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND REGULATIONS
What are the regulations on VOC's?
In 1990 the Clean Air Act (USA) mandated reduction of organics found in architectural coatings. The VOC regulation allows a maximum of 400 g/L of VOC excluding water. Some areas have stricter regulations that prevail over Federal law. For instance some California counties allow only 340 g/L of VOC.
What does Eco mean?
Eco is a recognized trade name of several Tennant floor coating products. Eco indicates the products have low level of solvents or have no solvents, are ecologically and user friendly. Eco does not necessarily mean solvent free or water based.
What is Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)?
A measure of the total amount of organic compounds (solvents) evaporating from a coating film, excluding water. Measure in grams per liter.
What are resurfacers?
Resurfacers are thick epoxy materials that are used to rebuild a damaged concrete surface.
PRODUCTS
What is a hardener?
An activator curing agent, catalyst or cross-linking agent. Hardeners are typically used for curing and hardening fresh concrete.
What is a urethane?
A synthetic resin that is used in wood and concrete floor coatings, and as an additive in some acrylic floor finishes. Urethanes are products that form a tough, durable plastic-like film coating that has outstanding abrasion resistance as well as very good resistance to certain types of chemical spills. Urethanes are commonly used in floor coatings to form a wear surface on the top of concrete.
What is a sealer?
Sealers are products that soak into a concrete surface to prevent dust from leaving the concrete. A coating used on absorbent surfaces prior to a finish coat.
What are coatings?
Permanent coatings, such as urethane or epoxy. Coatings are film which has cured on top of a surface which becomes a wear barrier between foot and truck traffic and the concrete.
What is epoxy?
A synthetic resin, derived from petroleum products, that can be cured by a catalyst or used to upgrade other synthetic resins to form a harder, more chemical-resistant film.
